Romans 8:31-39 (The Message)

31-39So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God's chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ's love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:

They kill us in cold blood because they hate you.
We're sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.
None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us.
I'm absolutely convinced that nothing
—nothing living or dead,
angelic or demonic,
today or tomorrow,
high or low,
thinkable or unthinkable
—absolutely nothing
can get between us and God's love
because of the way
that Jesus our Master has embraced us.

1 Corinthians 13:1-7 (The Message)

Love

1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. 2If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. 3-7If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,

Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Look into God's word with much Maturity and Understanding/Wisdom.
Take off time,with absolute Concentration,Look intently into the word.
Use imagery as a tool for description,
Love--Seemed simple,yet deep,Not Complicated,
but hard to portray. Love comes with 'big' Sacrifice,but it's worth.
'Love' is Everything,and my purpose.
God's love is so evident,God is the Personification of love.
Love IS God.

Who are the one's that hinder us from God?
none other than ourselves.
Things around are temptations,But
we had,and always have a choice
To Put God First.
Nothing in this world can ever separate us from this Unconditional Love.

We Lack quality,Lets Build Quality in each individual.
With Quality,comes Quantity.

I decided to post my quiet time here.
Hope it help me to spent my quiet faithfully.

1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Spiritual Gifts

1Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. 2You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. 3Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.
4There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

Learnings: I learn that God giftings are given by his spirit, God's work should be done in one spirit. Because it comes from God. Weather it is outreaching,faith,healing or whatever, God work in one spirit, through the holy spirit. God's giftings comes from God.

1 Corinthians 12:12-31

One Body, Many Parts

12The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13For we were all baptized by[c] one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

14Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

21The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" 22On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

27Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. 29Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues[d]? Do all interpret? 31But eagerly desire[e] the greater gifts.
And now I will show you the most excellent way.

Learnings: The body of christ must now be divided or departed. If the body of christ is not united with unity, the body cannot function and move. If the body disagree with each other and dishounor each other, the body will be disunited and it can't move. I learn that unity is very important in the church, the body of christ. We may have different gifts but we use our different gifts as a whole. A body. We need every part of the body, if not, we'll be handicap and we can't function as well as well as a normal,healthy body.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

Love

1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Learnings: No matter how smart,zai(good),wise we are, if we don't have love in our lives, we're nothing. Because without love, we'll do things no out of love, we'll do things out of ect. attendtion,fame,self-glory,self-seeking... But if we do things out of love, God's love, God sees and God bless and hounors us. I want to do things out of love. There are times when i do things because of it's used to me, things that i always do...but i want to repent and change. I want to have love in my life to bring joy to things i do and to be reminded of God's love for me. So many things God done for me and to others around me. God's love never fails.

1 Corinthians 14:1-25

Gifts of Prophecy and Tongues

1Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. 2For anyone who speaks in a tongue[a] does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.[b] 3But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. 4He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5I would like every one of you to speak in tongues,[c] but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues,[d] unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.
6Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction? 7Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the flute or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes? 8Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? 9So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air. 10Undoubtedly there are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning. 11If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me. 12So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church.

13For this reason anyone who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret what he says. 14For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind. 16If you are praising God with your spirit, how can one who finds himself among those who do not understand[e] say "Amen" to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying? 17You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other man is not edified.

18I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. 19But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.

20Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults. 21In the Law it is written:
"Through men of strange tongues
and through the lips of foreigners
I will speak to this people,
but even then they will not listen to me,"[f] says the Lord.

22Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers. 23So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand[g] or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? 24But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand[h]comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, 25and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, "God is really among you!"

Orderly Worship
26What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church. 27If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. 28If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God.
29Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.
As in all the congregations of the saints, 34women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

36Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached? 37If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord's command. 38If he ignores this, he himself will be ignored.[i]

39Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. 40But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

Edifies means: To instruct especially so as to encourage intellectual, moral, or spiritual improvement.

Learnings: I learned that prophecy edifies the church. There are times when i have prophecies in my head. But i lack courage to say it out and faith. But now i realise that phophecies encourage, comforts and strengthens the church. And we must use our giftings to God to build God's church. The give our giftings to God to help and build the church. And i must pray with my spirit, also pray with my mind; sing with my spirit, and also sing with my mind. (v15)

You know people, it's the new year! Welcome to the year of 2009! Let us not forget what we responded in camp. If you responded to serve God, let's serve Him with our best. Remember during the nights of the camp when you said, "I want to be on the list!"? Let us always keep this flame of passion with us when we go back to our schools. Some of us may be pioneering new schools, some may not. But hey, whatever the case, let's still give our best. Remember, we are working for the Lord, not for men. Let's go! Get in line.

We've really got to thank God for everything. Last week, I was informed that Andy couldn't come for camp although he paid for it already. Of course, I panicked. But during Intercession Ministry, we prayed that God would make a way. And guess what? God saw our desperation! On saturday, Andy said that he can come. Thank God!!!

It is true, God does move when we pray!

So let's pray for those that haven't confirmed their places in camp yet.

People like Dylan. Let's pray for him now! :D

and i believe that it is for every single one of us.

After watching this video, i'm again reminded, the importance of knowing our firestorm experience. Moses had one. Jesus had one. Paul had one. They all became powerful servants for God.

I know some of us may not have the firestorm experience, but we can discover the things that we can't stand at our young age. Certain cultures in our schools today.. certain unbiblical sight that just pain our hearts when we fix our eyes on them. If you have the same stirring in your heart as of Moses', that is your holy discontentment.

It doesn't just happen overnight, you need to fuel it. You need to be on the ground, in your school, be in the school culture. With that, you put on the LENSES OF GOD, and you see the culture of your school. That is when God will plant seed of discontentment in your heart.

Guys of NEB, i encouraged all of us, not to serve without understanding. We serve because we want to see changes in our schools. We evangelize because we want to see changes in our schools and because, we JUST CAN'T STAND THE CULTURE ANY LONGER.

The more we LOVE GOD, the more we LOVE his people. The more discontentment we have upon his people. Let's win our schools for Jesus.

Hello everyone! Let's always remember what we learnt in caregroup today!

Without Faith, it is impossible to please God.

Between Faith, Hope and Love, Love is the greatest of these 3.

Let's apply what we have learnt too! Let's have put our faith and love into action by bringing our friends to know God! Remember, Love God = Love Man.

"Dear Jesus, I would like to pray for 3 things today. Firstly, I would want to put my faith in you into action! I do not want to 'talk big' anymore. But I want to walk the talk. Everything that I say in prayer, I will put it into action. Secondly, I would want to pray for love and compassion in my life. Help us to see other people the way you perceive/see them. Help us to learn to love them like you do. And lastly, help us to be able to bring our friends/classmates/juniors to come to service and to know your wonderful love! This video is a praise and worship session in a church in Hawaii. It's led by Pastor Wayne Cordeiro, his sermons and teachings are 1 of my favourite alongside Bill Hybels.

Listen to the worship. There is none like you. A simple song with simple lyrics but it speaks volume and depth. Do reflect our journey with God regularly, because there is really none like Jesus. Even in this period of examination, do take time to talk to God and pray.

Whenever i listen to this song, I'm so refresh by God because it brings my heart amongst all the chaotic and business to the peace and love that God poured for all his children. There is no one else can touch our hearts like Jesus can. =D

Guys, this is key people. Understanding what you can't stand in this world will fuel us towards holy discontentment. With holy discontentment, it will further gear us towards serving God and loving his people in ways that we never knew we could. I encourage you guys to think through about the video and do some self reflection upon your life. =D

Some thoughts running through my brain when i was watching.. How can people not give their best in living their lives fully towards growing more in God?! How can people be satisfied with all the gangsterism, aimless lives, lives that only meant to pursue an endless goal, girlfriends and boyfriends. How can they not know Jesus? How can the schools that are suppose to be a missionary schools to have unbiblical culture in it?!

Had any hair loss lately? (not leg hair, although Shipeng doesn't have any...) How about pimple outbreaks? How about massive explosive white hair growth? Or maybe you find it hard to balance between ministry and school? Are all these symptoms be the cause of exams? It might be! But we need not worry! Because we have Jesus to sail us through the storm!

As a whole group, let us remember to always pray and ask God for strength, love and wisdom for the upcoming days. Trust me, you'll need it...
